snowing in houston

something strange happened yesterday...it's actually snow in houston when we were at the outlet mall. at first we thought it was just ice but it's not, it's snow....but it doesnt last long though, and it melts right away once it hits the floor. guess the temperature isnt cold enough for it to last...

too bad our iphone build-in camera couldnt pickup the snow =( but we were excited about snowing esp in houston, that's no way before this, hehe...

our active baby in 33 weeks

this is a funny one when she moved so much till my belly is out of shape =)

a little update about me, we went in for regular check up in our 33 weeks, and surprisingly i lost 2 pounds, (usually pregnant mum will gain most of their weight at the last trimester) hurrayyyyy....so happy...

remember 2 weeks ago our baby is way too huge. doctor told us she is bigger than any other babies and the percentage is 91%, which mean in 100 babies, she is one of the 9 babies that is that huge, wow...that is scary huh...hehe..luckily i lost some weight by cutting down some juice, rice and bread...
hehe...

thanksgiving eve

i stole some of my friend's pictures because i really think this is a funny one. that's the night before thanks giving.

pictures were taken around 8pm, and people already start camping and queueing. the thing is the stores only open at 5am....guess it's all worthwhile, the biggest sales ever in a year....

long lost friend - Lit Hsin and his family visiting us at thanksgiving weekend

Hsian's long lost childhood friend finally get in touch and came from dallas to pay us a visit during thanksgiving weekend. what a lovely family he got, we met his wife Salina and his little cutie son Wayhan. Wayhan loves our Pepper cat so so much....
we had a lot of information and advices from Lit Hsin and Salina. after all these, hsian and i kinda have a better idea yet in the same time overload with tons of info and started to feel the pressure already...one important advice from them, sleep as much as you can before the baby is born...

parenthood, here we come~~

Thanksgiving Day - our little precious is not moving for more than half a day......

today is thanksgiving day, we planned to have a thanksgiving dinner at hsian's sister house. of course we gotta prepare the dinner together start at around noon time.

normally our yoga queen baby girl wake me up every morning and once i had breakfast, her yoga sections change to kick boxing section. while i am listening to her prenatal education lessons (baby plus) she normally move and kick non stop. but for the whole day, since morning till 1pm, i can't feel her at all. hsian tried to shout at my belly, massage and press hard on my belly still she is not moving.

then we called to our doctor office, of course it's close as it's thanksgiving day then we're transfered to emergency line, finally our doctor was on the line with us and she wanted me to drink a full glass of cold water and see if that works. i drank lots of cold water and juices still negative....

we were so so so worried as we heard quite a lot of scary stories like unborn baby suffocate by the cord.....

then we decided to go in to our hospital to monitor our baby. once we reached the hospital, the nurse had this heartbeat detector and contraction detector on my big belly, finally we heard our little girl's heartbead following by loud sound as she kick right at the detector. there she is...our little naughty girl....

i was monitored for around 20 min and i was sent home becuase finally she awake and start kicking once i am in the hospital....

there goes our few hours of worried =D thank God!

before we left the hospital, our nephew - Euan admitted to the emergency as he is having problem with his breathing. after a few hours the result came back he was diagnosed with Croup....what a hectic day for both lim's families....

yet we still able to get our thanksgiving dinner done before 9pm, thanks to the big chef hsian's sister - ashley....

ultrasound at 31st Week, our little girl is 4.5 pounds instead of 3 pounds.....

well, we went in for a regular routine check up at our 31st week. it's so amazing that we can see our baby girl sucks her thumb, rub her eyes, move her hands, legs and head....2 months to go before we can meet her in person =) can't wait to see our baby girl, excited yet nervous, esp the process of the labor, guess every first time parents will have the same feelings. we went for childbirth class, going to attend breasfeeding, infant cpr and basic baby care classes too. hope to know as much as we can before baby is born so that we are more ready =)

anyway, back to the result of the ultrasound, our little girl has daddy's small ears, daddy's nose and mummy's eyes....at 31st week, most baby weight 3 pounds but our little girl weight 4.5 pounds already. way way way too big for 31st week. doc said she can easily reach 8 to 10 pounds when she is born. so i have to watch my diet, cut down rices and breads. (we really wonder what went wrong because i hardly eat full meals nowsaday. i get full so easily guess because she is too big and taken all my stomach space) gotta do more exercises & walking. wish i was at kl home, so that i can climb the stairs everyday, hehe...

at one point we are wondering, whether we counted the date correctly because we are not too sure about it at the very beginning, might be missed it by 1 or 2 weeks in this incident. hsian's sister told me she dreamed that our little girl gotta be a christmas baby, wow, that's a month earlier, is that possible that we miscalculated for a month????? hmmmm.....maybe this is why my belly is so huge...hehe...

hopefully baby is not too big or else i might have to schedule earlier labor or if she is way too huge, c-section might be considerated. now i am worried, mum gotta be here on the 6th Jan 09, can she make it before baby is born??? now we are telling our baby girl to wait for her beloved grandma, just a little reminder for her...hopefully it works =p

oh yeah, my 2nd sugar test came back normal, happy~~~

25th Weeks Ultrasound

here's the ultrasound of our baby girl at 25th week. At that time she moved and kicked quite a lot already, and obviously she is huge with fat butt and fat cheek =) we saw her little hand and foot and everything is normal =)

our new beautiful front yard

we had moved in for more than a year now, yet we havent spend anytime for taking care our front yard since we moved in. there's this day i cant take it anymore since we are kinda own the title for "the ugliest front yard" in the neighbourhood, so we decided to give it a new look. after digging, picking and planting for 2 days, with the helps from sister and the little naughty boy Euan, of course the biggest helper woei hsian, we finally have the most colorful front yard in our neighbourhood, yeah~~
well, all of us ended up with the stupid backache for several days esp me doing the job with my 7 months old big belly....almost took my life...hehe...
but it's all worthwhile~

2nd Glucose Test

last tues i went in for my regular check up and the nurse told me that my sugar is 19 points higher than it suppose to be. and she requested me to do a 2nd glucose test the next day. i went in on wed early in the morning at 9am with empty stomach and suppose to have 4 times blood draw in 3 hours, 1 in every hour.

the thing is she said my vein is too tiny and after she poke the needle in yet she stil couldnt find the vein and kinda search for it and twist around under my skin. and that's really really hurt =( she then gave up and pull the needle out and look for another one. instead of 4 times i ended up with 6. gosh...i can't stand but cried on the spot, really freak the nurse out, hehe...finally when it's done, it's around 12.30pm and i cant wait but to eat something, so so so hungry...

hopefully the 2nd test will come out ok, so i dont have to go thru any treatments...
thanks to chocolate and ice-cream...
sigh~

is a girl =)

Finally, today is our ultrasound appointment. baby is moving so much as usual and we finally got to know the sex of the baby, we are having a baby girl =) our due date changed to 25th Jan 09 according to the size of the baby. Guess daddy's six sense was right, Woei Hsian woke up in the middle of the night 2 days ago and told me that he dreamed that we are having a baby girl then went back to zzzz. Pik Geen was telling me that she guess we are having a baby girl too. as well as Scott. everyone is right, hehe...

I always luv this name, Maya. but then sis told me that it can be spell as Mya, and it was so meant to be that she likes her daughter's name as Mya too (if she has one). we both think Mya is cooler than Maya =)


Now, the very "gender discriminate" god mother - javien should finally relieve that i am having a baby girl. or else she doesnt want to be the god mum. what a god mother huh...hehe

the whole process was good. we saw baby's heart, kidney, arms, legs, head, and face. she was so shy that she blocked her face with her arm at the begining but then we keep telling her to move her arm away so that we can see her thru ultrasound and she finally did. that's how we got this scannings =)

now we can start looking and shopping at her clothes...hurray =)

Confinement Recipe from Gillian =)

today i received an email from one of my old friend - Gillian. i am so touched by her thoughtful advices =) there's this everything you need to know about confinements and the recipes....so happy and printed it out right away as a reference. of course sent a copy to mum so that mum can look at it and know better when mum is here to help during my confinement =)

some little stuffs for baby =)

without knowing the gender of the baby it's difficult for us to do the shopping at this moment but i can't help but to look at it and still bought a couple of something for our precious one =)

hopefully these are still pretty ok with baby girl OR baby boy =)

as for the baby plus, it's a recommended from the pretty mums - my cousin and sister. i started the prenatal education in 18 weeks and now we are in lesson 2 =)
baby is gonna be a smart girl/boy =)

Splash Park with Euan

browsing thru my pictures and found these. we went to splash park with euan in May 08. that's his first time there in the splash park. i brought this up because i then realized at that time i'm already pregnant with my precious little one without knowing it. still jumping around and playing with euan like a crazy woman. hehe...
felt so blessing that God gave me this little precious =)

goodies from Malaysia =)

yesterday finally got all the goodies from Malaysia, Chay Xiang is visiting us here in Houston, he drove all the way from Arkansas to Houston and pass us the goodies that Angust brought back from Malaysia =) hehe, i actually took most of his luggage space, so bad~

looking at all the efforts that families and friends had put in really make me feel like crying, so touching touching =,)

of course tons of foods from mom, sisters & mother inlaw.
bird nest from mum - baby's grandma...next time when baby born with fair skin gotta thank grandma lor =p

royal jelly from second sister and the rest from third sister. both are baby's aunties....satay, marmite, asam, kentucky fried chicken powder, keropok & etc all from 3rd ah yee lor...

then we have ikan bilis, dried shrimp, shrimp paste that cooked by her, some organic drink from mother inlaw- baby's grandma...

i also got a baby guide book in chinese from baby's ah yee - my cousin, ting ting. so so so happy because i couldnt found one that is in chinese right here. can't wait but to read it right away even it's 12am in the night...hehe...felt so close to hometown because it's my own language =D

then i got 2 books from baby's god brother - angust =) one has his wishes and signature that writte "May your shop be prosperous", it's a card making book....and the other one is baby first year record book, sob sob....so gan dong...hehe
of course the god brother not only the delivery boy but the shopping boy for me to get some ribena, heong peng, sa kei ma, marmite, malta & etc for me =) guess i will only put on weight now huh , then for sure scolded by doctor =D

not to forget keng seong that helped us to buy the 2 dom in the airport and brought all the way back to the states =)

thank you so much, and we really appreaciate that...
i am so happy because even though we are so far away from home but stil got all the cares and wishes from everyone =) what's better than that?
